Clooney, 65, revealed he and his wife Amal, 48, were evacuating with their nine-year-old twins in a letter to the mayor of Brignoles, where they live.

The actor said last year he was "very lucky" to be raising their 9-year-old twins in France.

In central Spain, thousands of people sleep in shelters or in their cars, some of them evacuated multiple times ahead of the advancing flames, awaiting word on what they left behind.
