FSB says it detained foreign national accused of scouting Moscow train station with drone for planned attack

Russia’s Federal Security Service announced it had detained a foreigner in the Murmansk region on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack in Moscow on orders from Ukrainian security services.

Ukraine reportedly planned to unleash up to 1,000 autonomous AI-powered drones on Moscow’s airports in a single night, aiming to overwhelm air defenses, cripple flights and pressure the Kremlin back to negotiations. The operation was halted after former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov’s July departure.

Early this year, Ukrainian officials came to President Volodymyr Zelensky with a risky new plan to end the war with Russia. It would require expanding their bombing campaign to include a set of targets and a class of weapons they had long avoided. In addition to Ukraine’s ongoing strikes against Russian military bases,
