Founder of nonprofit that helps prisoners charged with 20 ‘sexually based crimes’

The founder of an organization that helps former inmates reintegrate with society after incarceration has been arrested for a string of "sexually based crimes," Las Vegas Metro police said, warning there could be additional victims in the community.

Hope for Prisoners founder Jon Ponder was arrested Tuesday on multiple sex crime charges, according to a release from the Metropolitan Police Department.

A 26-year-old man from Ghana has been arrested multiple times in the past two weeks for alleged sexual assaults, according to news reports out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. One of the alleged sexual assaults was witnessed by local firefighters who notified police about the attack in a park.
