Ford escalates fight over Toronto Island airport, threatens support for rail project

The Ford government is threatening to rescind support for a high-speed rail line after the Carney government said it would block the expansion of the Toronto island airport.

Federal Transport Minister Steve MacKinnon says the Alto high-speed rail line will “redefine travel” between Canada’s biggest cities, as 11 eastern Ontario Progressive Conservative MPPs raise concerns that “too many questions remain unanswered” about the project.
