Aug 5 - Firefighters making big strides against a cluster of blazes near Spokane, Washington, scrambled on Wednesday to secure their gains as they anticipated a return of extremely hot, dry weather in the days ahead.

Authorities have arrested a man accused of intentionally igniting the devastating fires in and around Spokane, Washington, that have already forced tens of thousands to evacuate their homes. Kris Van Cleave reports and Rob Marciano has the forecast.
