A federal judge on Friday cleared the way for U.S. President Donald Trump's administration to strip nearly 1,100 Somalis of legal protections against deportation that ​have allowed them to live and work in the United States.

President Donald Trump scored a big victory Friday after an Obama-appointed judge cleared the way for immigration officials to end temporary legal protections for thousands of Somali nationals living in the United States.

About 400 Somali people in Minnesota have TPS. The end of the protection could lead to deportations, though a legal challenge continues.
