Explosions in Kyiv after Zelenskyy warns of Russian strikes

At least one person was killed in a Russian air strike on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had warned that Russia had "prepared a massive attack," citing air force reports.

Russian forces attacked Kyiv with missiles in the early hours of Thursday, with falling debris causing fires in the Sviatoshynskyi and Obolonskyi districts. Authorities also reported a blaze at a garage cooperative, while the Air Force warned of missiles heading toward Kyiv, Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih.

Russia said areas of Ukraine under Moscow's control had also come under ​attack, with four killed in a Ukrainian drone strike in the ‌Russian-occupied Ukrainian ‌city of Horlivka.
