WASHINGTON, Aug 7 - First used in the 1991 Gulf War, the U.S. Patriot air defense system has seen demand spike sharply this year, with supplies of interceptor missiles depleted by Ukraine's war against the Russian invasion and the widening war in the Middle East.

To discuss the air defense shortage in Ukraine and the impact on its ability to defend itself from Russia, Amna Nawaz spoke with retired Army Col. Robert Hamilton. He's now president of the Delphi Global Research Center, a military consulting firm.
