FREE bus travel will soon become the reality for millions of Brits as the government rolls out a new public transport plan. The 24-hour passes are set to be introduced in less than seven months' time. The government has announced plans to lift time restrictions on disabled bus passes, essentially unlocking free travel

The changes, which have been made to ease cost-of-living pressures, will come into force on April 1

The age at which people in England can claim a free bus pass is rising in line with the State Pension age this September, affecting those born between August 6 and September 5, 1960, who must now wait longer before becoming eligible under the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme.
