Every primary one pupil in Scotland to receive 'welcome to school' backpack

All pupils starting primary one in Scotland next year will receive a free backpack full of classroom essentials under a new scheme which aims to build on the success of the Scottish Government’s Baby Box initiative.

Around 47,000 children starting Primary One in Scotland will receive the new Welcome to School Bag from August 2027.
