EU countries call for talks over migrant influx into Spanish enclave

A majority of EU countries called on Saturday for emergency talks on the sudden inflow of tens of thousands of migrants into Spain's enclave of Ceuta in North Africa.

France and Italy are boosting border controls after some 60,000 people crossed into Spain’s North African enclave of Ceuta, sparking one of the largest migrant crises for the European Union in years.

Thousands of migrants recently surged into Spain's Ceuta from Morocco, overwhelming authorities and prompting military support from Madrid.
