English FA to withdraw support for Gianni Infantino's FIFA re-election

The move comes following the collapse of Infantino's proposal to sell a stake in FIFA's commercial operations to private investors.

The English Football Association (FA) plans to formally withdraw its support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino, dealing him a major blow just days after he dropped his bid to sell some of his equity to private investors.

UEFA said on Saturday it had “lost confidence” in the FIFA boss.
