Earthquake shakes Colombia's capital, local authorities say magnitude 6.6, USGS puts it at 7.4

The Colombian geological service reported that the quake's epicentre was in Choco province, on the Pacific coast.

The temblor follows two back-to-back 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes in Venezuela in late June.

The magnitude-7.4 quake had its epicentre near a village on the Pacific Coast.

The governor of the department that includes San Jose Del Palmar reported injuries and serious damage to buildings but did not provide further details.
