Early voter turnout down slightly for 2 of Ontario’s 3 byelections

Figures released by Elections Ontario track the number of early ballots cast in Scarborough Southwest, Hamilton East-Stoney Creek and York-Simcoe.

Two of the ridings are considered fairly safe Liberal seats, both of which were vacated by former cabinet ministers. In Quebec, where voters had elected a Conservative four consecutive times, the Tories may have a difficult time holding their ground.
