‘Drunk’ pilot crashes ‘stolen’ Cessna plane near nuclear power plant

Air defence systems were activated in Hungary after a man flew the light aircraft into restricted airspace.

The Cessna 172 was detected by military radar after it entered a no-fly zone near the Paks nuclear power plant in southern Hungary.

The nuclear plant has special protection status, with civilian aircraft prohibited from getting within two miles of the site at altitudes below 20,000 feet.

This is the 27th time since Russia invaded Ukraine that Zaporizhzhia plant has had to rely on emergency diesel supplies.
