DRC Ebola outbreak growing 'exponentially,' UN warns, as deaths exceed 2,500

The Ebola outbreak raging through the Democratic Republic of the Congo is growing "exponentially," the United Nations warned on Friday, as the number of deaths from the virus passed 2,500.

The Ebola outbreak is already the biggest in the country's history and is spreading faster than any outbreak on record.

The Ebola outbreak in the DRC is rapidly spreading in an area "bigger than France," according to a senior UN official. The WHO is providing the country with thousands of vaccine doses in a bid to contain the virus.
