President Trump said on social media Tuesday that no talks or conversations are underway with Iran and that the Strait of Hormuz is "open and operating." However, shipping data says otherwise. CBS News' Natalie Brand has more.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday said the U.S. has no planned talks with Iran, and none were scheduled, as Iran's top negotiator said the Strait of Hormuz will remain shut until the U.S. meets the conditions of ‌an interim deal inked in June.

The US President shared an image declaring the Strait of Hormuz part of the US on Truth Social after floating the idea earlier this week.

The president's latest statement came one day after he threatened the nation of Oman if its rulers aided Tehran in its effort to control the critical waterway.
