Conservative MP Larry Brock to resign next month, triggering eighth federal byelection

Brock was first elected to Parliament in 2021, replacing longtime Conservative MP Phil McColeman, and was re-elected in 2025 with more than 52% of the vote share

Larry Brock will become the seventh MP to leave Pierre Poilievre’s Conservative caucus since the 2025 federal election.

Conservative MP Larry Brock, from the Ontario riding of Brantford—Brant South—Six Nations, says he'll be resigning from Parliament next month, noting in a social media post that he'd accepted an opportunity at the Brantford Crown Attorney's office.

Brock is the seventh MP to leave Poilievre's caucus since the 2025 election, with four of them crossing the floor to the Liberals.
