Coastguard suspends search for missing pair after fishing boat sinks in English Channel

An ‘intensive search’ just off Plymouth has been underway since a distress call was made

A French fishing boat has sunk in the Channel and two men are missing, French maritime authorities said.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) on Sunday night described the crew members as 'unaccounted for', and said the search for them has been 'suspended pending further information'.
