Christian Brothers says it settles most claims ‘without the stress of a court appearance’

Congregation says protracted litigation has ‘very little, if any, benefit’ to claimants with majority of cases settled within a year

It comes as the names of 341 former Christian Brothers were published in the Irish Independent following an order from the High Court in relation to an abuse case.

The head of the Christian Brothers has said that contrary to recent commentary, the focus of the congregation remains "resolutely on settling claims in a timely manner without the stress and delays of litigation".
