Humanoid robots remain far from mass deployment, but Unitree’s CEO says the industry could reach a major AI breakthrough within two to three years.

No comparable inflection point has yet emerged for world models, the physical AI simulation systems designed to help robots understand and navigate real-world environments

Unitree – whose dexterous robots have raised national security concerns in Congress – raised 6.1 billion yuan ($904 million) in its public debut. The Hangzhou-based firm is the first robotics firm from mainland China to go public, with investors including AI firm DeepSeek and tech giant Tencent.

Unitree shares surge as much as 620 percent amid enthusiasm for burgeoning field of human-like robots.

Chinese robotics company Unitree unveiled a new humanoid robot dubbed “Superman” which it says is “breaking the limits of humanity.” According to the company, the robot can perform a vertical jump of over 6 feet and can reach a top speed of more than 40 feet per second.
