CDC expands largest known cyclosporiasis outbreak to 15 states - report

US cyclosporiasis cases have reached record levels this year, with the current epidemic among the largest foodborne illness outbreaks in recent US history.

The U.S. CDCis expanding the ongoing cyclospora outbreak to 15 states, adding six more states to the outbreak linked to iceberg lettuce, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday, citing three individuals familiar with the investigation.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is adding six states where illnesses have been traced to shredded iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico.
