Canada, allies express renewed concern over North Korean IT worker scheme

North Korea has continuously deployed a network of remote IT workers to defraud businesses and transfer revenues toward the proliferation of nuclear weapons, says a statement by Global Affairs Canada and its counterparts in nine other countries.

Pyongyang accused of using hard currency earned by AI-assisted workers to power armaments programme.

The joint advisory urged countries and companies to 'deepen their understanding' of the tactics used and implement measures to counter them.
