Call for road bowling to be added to UNESCO heritage list

The governing body of road bowling has called for the sport to be listed to Ireland's UNESCO cultural heritage list, joining traditions like Uilleann piping, harping, and hurling.

A campaign is getting underway to add one of Ireland’s oldest sports to the list of intangible cultural heritage protected by UNESCO, a list which already includes hurling, set dancing and uileann pipe playing.
