Burnham says water central to U.K. plan for public control

Yorkshire’s three Labour mayors have urged the Prime Minister to bring Yorkshire Water under greater public control through mutualisation.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham said the water industry “stands as a leaking monument” to what he sees as the failure of decades of privatization in Britain, pledging to set out a plan for the “public control” of essential services later this year.
