The Toronto Blue Jays continued to shed pieces of the team that reached the World Series last year by trading outfielder Daulton Varsho and cash to the Houston Astros and closer Jeff Hoffman to the Minnesota Twins.

Minnesota is betting on Jeff Hoffman’s swing-and-miss stuff after acquiring the veteran reliever from Toronto in a deadline trade.

The Twins are trying to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2023.

The Los Angeles Angels agreed to trade pitcher Jose Soriano to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for three prospects, the teams announced Monday.
