Beer thieves steal 40,000lbs of lager in truck heist

A beer truck filled with 40,000 pounds of Pabst Blue Ribbon has been stolen in California, the company says.

Pabst Blue Ribbon says 40,000 pounds of its beer vanished in California as police probe fraudulent paperwork used at a distribution center pickup.

The theft happened on a driveway at a home off Backdrop Lane in Valencia, a neighborhood of Santa Clarita.

Art theft experts say the heist at the Museum of Villena mimics increasingly violent and quick robberies elsewhere in Europe, possibly inspired by last year’s Louvre break-in.

The Treasure of Villena, a unique Bronze Age trove, was stolen from a Spanish museum on Thursday in a rapid, four-minute long heist.
