APM candidate steps down for Adeleke in Osun governorship election

The governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement in the Osun State governorship election, Adebayo  Adewale, has withdrawn from the race and declared his support for the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke. Adewale announced his decision at a press conference on Thursday in a video shared by the Special Assista

Mr Adewale's withdrawal comes less than two days before the 15 August governorship election, leaving voters with one fewer candidate.

The contest features the incumbent, former commissioners, a former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, entrepreneurs, technocrats and candidates offering themselves as alternatives to the dominant political blocs.
