LONDON, Aug 24 (Reuters) - UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham will visit Ukraine on Monday on his first overseas trip since taking office, and will announce British support to help Kyiv improve its domestic production of long-range missiles.

Andy Burnham's first trip abroad as PM will see him co-chair a meeting of Ukraine's main backers and meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The visit comes as Ukraine marks its 35th independence day. DW has more.

"Ukraine's security is our security," UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham said in a statement, adding that Britain would stand by Ukraine "for as long as it takes."
