An American missionary who was kidnapped in Niger in October has been released, his organization says, adding that Kevin Rideout "is in good health in the care of U.S. officials."

The release of Kevin Rideout, a 50-year-old pilot who was kidnapped in October in Niger’s capital, Niamey, has been a priority for the White House and the military’s Africa Command.

Kevin Rideout, who was kidnapped outside his home in the capital last October, is now with US officials.
