Ajayi, Adeshina win Commonwealth Games bronze

Nigeria’s Kayinsola Ajayi and Temitope Adeshina secure bronze medals in men’s 100m and women’s high jump at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Nigeria’s Kanyinsola Ajayi claimed the bronze medal in the men’s 100m final at the Commonwealth Games on Tuesday, finishing third in a highly competitive race run under torrential rain.

Cameroon's Emmanuel Eseme stormed to gold in a Games record of 9.83 seconds, while Australia's Lachlan Kennedy claimed silver in a personal best of 9.85 seconds. Ajayi held off South Africa's Gift Leotlela, who finished fourth in 9.91 seconds.
