Accused 9/11 ‘mastermind’ to stand trial in 2028

The self-proclaimed and accused "mastermind" of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center is scheduled to stand trial in 2028, according to an order issued Wednesday.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was considered one of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden's top lieutenants before he was captured in March 2003 in Pakistan.

The alleged mastermind behind the September 11 terror attacks will go on military trial in 2028, a judge has ruled.
