More than 2,000 people have now died in the fastest-growing Ebola outbreak in history, and challenges keep coming in containing a rare type of the virus with no approved treatment or vaccine.

Congo's health authorities report 4,381 confirmed cases, including 2,011 deaths. This outbreak is spreading almost three times faster than the 2014-16 outbreak in West Africa, the deadliest in history.
