5.0 magnitude earthquake strikes Egypt

The quake occurred at 3 a.m. local time about 22 miles north ⁠of the Egyptian city of Suez, the US Geological Survey said.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, according to the health ministry and the Egyptian Red Crescent

The earthquake had a magnitude of 5.4 and hit at a depth of 6 miles, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences.
