4 Mountaineers Killed, 6 Missing After Avalanche Strikes Peak In PoK

The avalanche struck the mountain at an altitude of around 7,000 metres Thursday, sweeping away the 10-member climbing team that had begun its summit push, according to the Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP).

Nepal’s Nirmal Purja, who led the expedition of 10 climbers, set a world record in 2019, becoming the first person ever to climb all 14 of the world’s highest peaks surpassing the 8,000 metre mark, in just 189 days.
