2027: Kogi charges presidential candidates N150m for billboards

Kogi State sets N150m fee for presidential candidates’ billboards and other campaign materials for 2027 elections, aiming to regulate and generate revenue.

[Vanguard] Kogi State Government has fixed N150 million as the official fee payable by presidential candidates for the placement of campaign billboards, posters and other promotional materials across the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.

‎The government also approved N50 million for senatorial candidates, N30 million for House of Representatives candidates and N5 million for State House of Assembly candidates.

Prosecutors accuse six others, including the leader of cartel Los Lobos, of having an indirect role in the murder of Fernando Villavicencio.

Fernando Villavicencio, known for his anti-corruption investigations, was polling in second place when he was killed.
