2027: I will bring back petrol subsidy, Atiku insists

"On the question of subsidy, my position has not changed and will not change: I will restore it!"

Atiku Abubakar’s spokesman, Paul Ibe, says the former VP will restore petrol subsidy if elected president in 2027, then gradually phase it out.

According to Ibe, Atiku does not intend to return to the subsidy arrangement of the past. Rather, the proposal would involve using Nigeria’s crude oil resources to support domestic refining and reduce the cost of petroleum products.
