Young drivers more likely to delay car repairs in cost-of-living crisis – survey
Young drivers are more likely to delay necessary car repairs because of financial reasons than pensioners amid the cost-of-living crisis, a survey has suggested.The RAC, which commissioned the poll, said that the average car repair bill had hit £700, and it was “little wonder that so many people are finding it difficult to make ends meet”.Of the 2,238 UK drivers surveyed, a quarter of those under the age of 25 and 21% of those aged 25 to 44 said they had delayed necessary repairs because of financial reasons.For respondents aged 65 or over, this figure dropped to 5%.More than half of drivers surveyed (60%) during the RAC’s annual report on motoring said the cost of maintaining and repairing their car had increased over the past year, while 32% said they were worried about the cost of maint
