France defeated Morocco 2-0 in a hard-fought quarter-final encounter, with Mbappé opening the scoring after initially missing a penalty in the first half. The captain's redemption came as he found the breakthrough before setting up Dembélé for the second goal. The Bleus dominated large periods but were made to work hard by a well-organised Morocco side who created genuine chances throughout, particularly from set pieces.
