Worker injured at shipbreaking yard in Sitakunda
A worker was injured at a shipbreaking yard in Chattogram's Sitakunda on Sunday morning, just two days after nine workers died in a toxic gas incident at another yard.The incident occurred around 8:30am at Baraka Shipbreaking and Recycling Yard, according to yard authorities.The injured worker, Md Alauddin, 51, employed as a fitterman, was rescued and taken to a private hospital in Chattogram for treatment.Sohel Parvez, inspector of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE), told The Daily Star that Alauddin was suffering from pain in his hands and legs.According to yard authorities, Alauddin became dizzy after joining work and fell while being on a ship.
