Woman stranded in Spain after Britain’s eVisa system mistakes her for twin sister

THE HOME OFFICE eVisa system mixed up a woman’s identity with her twin sister, leaving her stranded in Spain despite having settled status in Britain. Staff told Nidia Webb she was facing a “known issue” when she was blocked for taking a flight back home because her digital settled status was linked to her identical twin’s details, she told Politico yesterday. Despite living in Britain for eight years, Ms Webb was told that her status could not be “properly matched” to her identity.
