Woman shot in Austin carjacking

A 36-year-old woman was shot during a carjacking early Saturday in Austin, Chicago police said. Officers responded to a call of a person shot at about 12:37 a.m. along the 4600 block of West Fifth Avenue, police said. The woman was getting out of her car when a man approached, fired shots and demanded access to her vehicle before fleeing, according to police.
