Woman killed in Dhaka’s Shahjahanpur, husband held

Police say domestic dispute led to strangulation 6 MIN(s) ago UPDATED 6 MIN(s) ago Star Online Report A woman was strangled to death allegedly by her husband following a family dispute in Dhaka's Shahjahanpur on Sunday afternoon.The victim was identified as Swapna Khatun, 25, of Tilatia village in Phulpur upazila of Mymensingh, said police.Her husband, Rubel Mia, is from Sankipara in Mymensingh Sadar, said Shahjahanpur Police Station Officer‑in‑Charge Amirul Islam.Police recovered Swapna’s body from their home around 1:30pm on Sunday and sent it to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.Police later arrested Rubel from Khilgaon in the evening.Police said the couple had quarrelled often over financial hardship.
