Emergency services responded to the scene around 6.40am following a call for the concern of the safety of a woman in her 20s.‌Merseyside Police attended the scene and a woman was taken to hospital, where she remains in a stable condition.‌Both carriageways of the East Lancs Road were closed between Rainford Road and Moss Bank Road while the incident was dealt with.
