A woman accused of smothering a child with a pillow has appeared in Wellington District Court.The 27-year-old woman faces one charge of assault on a 3-year-old.The charge relates to an incident on 1 July in Auckland.The judge granted the woman interim name suppression at her appearance on Monday.She was held in custody on a separate matter.
