Woman dies after being hit by taxi on Aigburth Road

Merseyside Police were called to Aigburth Road in Aigburth around 5.40pm after a female pedestrian was hit by a white Toyota Voxy private hire taxi on the city-bound carriageway between Fulwood Road and Larkfield Road.‌The pedestrian, a 26-year-old woman was taken to hospital, where she later died. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers, police said.‌A 41-year-old taxi driver stopped at the scene and has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving, while under the influence of drugs and is currently in police custody.‌An investigation is underway, and CCTV
