Woman arrested for over ₹12 crore work-from-home scam

The Satyanarayanapuram police of NTR Police Commissionerate arrested Pasupuleti Suma, who allegedly duped customers through a firm named Mashallah Enterprises.Suma’s husband, Pasupuleti Ankusam, surrendered before the court on August 12. The couple were produced in court on August 13, said Police Commissioner S. V. Rajasekhar Babu, who constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT), to probe the case.According to the SIT police, “Three more accused have been identified and efforts are under way to arrest them.”Investigation officers in a release said: “The accused lured the victims by offering good salaries through work- from-home jobs by packing scrubbers. They allegedly assured payments of ₹12,000, ₹24,000 and ₹48,000, if they (victims) deposit ₹50,000, ₹1 lakh and ₹2 lakh respectively.”
