The Tampa Bay Rays will be without one of their top starting pitchers for at least a week. Rays president of baseball operations Erik Neander announced on an appearance on WDAE radio with Tom Krasniqi that left-hander Shane McClanahan was placed on the 15-day injured list with lower back tightness. The two-time All-Star exited yesterday's start after just three innings due to the back pain. "The team is hopeful that he’ll only miss two starts, Neander tells Krasniqi.
