What happened to Kyle Stowers? Why Marlins placed All-Star outfielder on IL

The Miami Marlins lost one of their top bats in the lineup on Tuesday. Today, the NL East club announced that outfielder/first baseman Kyle Stowers was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain. Stowers exited Sunday's game early with what the Marlins described as left hamstring discomfort. He walked off the field after he grimaced rounding first base on a single in Miami's 12-3 victory against the Los Angeles Angels. In a corresponding move, infielder Graham Pauley was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville. This is not the first hamstring injury of the season for Stowers. A right hamstring strain during spring training kept him on the IL until April 9.
