We are not drowning because it rains—we are drowning because we have normalised filth

When the skies open over Accra, fear often follows. It is not simply because of the rain. It is because Ghanaians know what comes next: flooded homes, stranded commuters, destroyed businesses, traffic paralysis, and, in the worst cases, lives lost. The heartbreaking truth is that many of these tragedies are not natural disasters. They are the result of human choices.
